Hi everybody. Now that the kiddies are ready to go back to their 9-5′s (or rather 8:30 to 2:50′s) it’s time to put my summer lazy down and get back into the swing of this thing. No better way to restart than share some new stuff from the hardest working man in Oakland, Bart Davenport. My good friends at Antenna Farm Records have given the thumbs up to sharing a couple slices of pop deliciousness from his upcoming release Palaces. Hope you dig it.

Check out the video for A Young One:

No one but Bart could step right up to the edge of insufferable cheese and make it seem so sincere. Crush on your corny! Palaces is out September 9. A CD release party is happening at Cafe Du Nord on the 19th

Hello there and welcome to my blogosphere deflowering. Posting everyday is a pipe dream (I’m a father of two so whaddya want from me?). I do hope to get stuff up here a couple times a week though. The Sonics were a blast of white hot energy out of Tacoma, Washington that took the R&B/rock fusion of local favorites like The Wailers and The Kingsmen to unimagined extremes for the time. Lead singer Gerry Roslie wails like a cranked out white Little Richard. Still some of the raunchiest rock ever recorded.
